I don't get chest pains, but it sounds like it is a symptom of anxiety. At least I have heard that anxiety can be exhibited by chest pains.

I would have to agree with Phyllis, I have been dealing with severe anxiety my whole life. I think my biggest symptoms of anxiety are chest pains (tight, pressure, and it feels like some one is sitting on my chest. Then the second would be the panic attacks, there so bad I think I'm dieing.

When I am like going to rip someones head off type of mad I get bad chest pains. Then I have to calm myself down or my hubby tried to calm me down unless of course if it was him that pissed me off in the first place.

Help  i have had anxiety disorder most of my life but could always identify it. but lately it seems that for no reason what so ever i am feeling like i'm going to pass out, can't breath and my heart is beating out of control and i can't think of a reason why.  i keep thinking i'm having heart problems but my pdoc says anxiety attack.  do you guys get these attacks for no reason that you are necessarily aware of. thanks, k

My doc says it's anxiety, but my experience may be a little different.  Usually it starts with a feeling that my chest is wide open  ..... a feeling of being extremely vulnerable.  Most of the time I can bear it until it fades away, but sometimes it gets worse and then my heart pounds and I lose my breath .... as if I've run a long distance.  If I sit or lie down for a while I'm okay.  It's been coming quite regularly now, just about every morning ... and it's not caffeine, it happens before I've had coffee.
