Hello everybody!!! I am happy to have found a site strictly for ppl with BP disorder!!!
I'm part of another forum for mental illness but i'm hoping this is better because its geared toward MY illness.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder(they didnt tell me whether it was 1 or 2)....back in February after being misdiagnosed with extreme depression and was put on Prozac for it.

I was definitely anti-depressed Afro...lets jus say that.

Tonite i am STILL in a manic episode....i have shifted to depressed episodes about 3 times in the past 5 months.....and i think what i have most of are mixed episodes....i'm still learning this illness.

Right now i am on 150mg of Seroquel XR....but lately i take 2 pills...which makes it 300mg....bc the one pill a day stopped working for me.

So i look forward to hangin around here and i hope this forum gets live!!!!

Sounds like you are possibly BP1 if the prozac made you manic. It takes awhile to get everything sorted out. Just remember to be completely honest with your therapist and or pdoc. That way that can treat you the best possible way.

NO NO NO!!!!! It made me crazy Bug Eyes<------like that!!! I NEVER want to take Prozac again!!

I took some SAMe (nutritional supplement for depression) and it made me INSTANTLY manic as shit!  I swear to GOD I went ape shit nuts an hour or two after taking just ONE tablet.  I thought I was laced with coke.

I forgot to tell a little bit about myself!...shame on me!...                     I'm 23 years old...i have no kids in a relationship with an old high school friend which is somewhat long distance...he's 30 minutes away from me. Only my dad knows that i have a bf. My dad is my rock in the family.  I'm usually very cheerful and funny. But i have had very very low days.                  Before i was put on meds i was one extreme to the other. I can be self destructive and i am a self harmer. I also tend to babble alot so this site is perfect for me.

Welcome again.  I guess we all forget to share things about our selfs.  At least I know I tend to focus on the illness or how I feel. 
I am a 30 year old single mother of an 11 year old boy.  I have only one friend outside of the family that I speak with.  I keep pretty much to myself and the most outside contact I have is a dreaded trip to the store.  Things may get better as they have put me on an anti depressant now.  Ill hope for the best.
