This is very interesting! It is a little long, but a good read. Check it out!

SAMe makes me manic as shit...but yeah that article makes a lot of sense about helping with the depression.  A lot of people who are depressed could also benefit from cutting out gluten (since it interferes with the absorption of valuable nutrients) and increasing their protein content.  Many people do not get enough quality protein in their diet.  But what nutrients help with the control of the regulation of mood/brain chemestry?

Hey Paz, you ever read about the metabolic types in people?

being a vegetarian i often drink protein powders and i was wondering if whey protein is considered gluton based?  does anyone know?   i am trying my hardest to stay away from wheat mostly because i grave it and it doesn't supply much i need. although i do try to eat whole grains.  but, most of the protein powders are either whey or soy - and damn i eat a ton of soy and what's funny is that soy is one of the crops that is grown with a great abundance of pesticides - or that's what i read.  plus how much soy is good for you?

and fish oil?  i gotta say that's a tough one for a vegetarian.   my dad recently bought my a multivitamen - like a thousand of them - and i read the ingredients and it contained fish oil so it actually wasn't a vegetarian product or at least i haven't heard of synthetic fish yet.  and everytime i think of fish oil i can't help but picture someone taking a whole fresh fish a wringing it out like a wash cloth to get the oil.  is that how they do it?  Grin   (even when i was a kid nobody wanted to take me fishing cuz i was very good at emptying the buckets.  who knew once they were dead they wouldn't come back to life when you threw them back into the ocean. Whey is from milk so has no gluten...but it is not a good subsitutue for meat because the amino acids are not balanced.  Do you eat eggs and fish?  Or do you mean that you are a vegan?

We use Udo's oil 369 blend for omega fatty acids...it is vegetarian, made with organic flax ,sesame & sunflower oil. Fish oil gel caps taste yucky.

ops, duh... curds and whey.  i'm not quite sure what i was thinking about.  but, i guess if i'm a vegan whey wouldn't be the right way to go.  and no i'm not quite a vegan but i try.  and i do know about amino acids and even though their are no complete non animal proteins  if you get the right variety of foods you can get the complete amino acids you need.    and paz, thanks i'll try that one!
