I'm a natural nutrition guru and have studied it for years.  Other things that help with depression: omega 3, amino acids, B complex, inositol (lithium depletes this),...cutting gluten from the diet (even if you don't have celiac or gluten intolerance) can help your body absorb more of these naturally.  Gluten acts as a binder or glue, preventing proper digestion of nutrients.  Foods containing gluten do not contain any nutrients that can't be found in other foods.  Also, other foods have those nutrients in much greater abundance and bio availability.
