These are the side effects that I had and I found natural remedies to them.  I posted this as a new thread some people looking for this type of info are more likely to see it.

Hand tremor:  It was steadily getting worse.  I read that good quality fish oil or krill oil will get rid of that.  I started taking Carlson's Fish oil and the tremor is almost gone.  Fish oil takes a while to start working so it may take longer than that in many cases.  The key is QUALITY fish oil.  You want something with a high bio availability.  I know that Carlson's is good and found in most health food stores.

Excessive thirst that never goes away:  6-12 grams of inositol per day remedy that problem.  I was doubtful when I tried it but OMG it works!!!  They key is to find the right amount.  You want to slowly increase it each day until the annoying side effect goes away.  You still should drink plenty of water of course but you won't over hydrate and have to piss a thousand times.  Over hydrating is bad for your kidneys and I wonder if that has anything to do with kidney problems from long term lithium.

Inositol also cures psoriasis caused by lithium and I wonder too if it prevents hair loss.  Inositol is supposed to help with normal hair loss and I would think that would be true for people on lithium but I don't know for sure.  But if you are having that problem it can't hurt to try it!

Bloating:  Normally I didn't drink tons of water when I ate.  With lithium I do and doing that dilutes your stomach acid.  Your food isn't as digested when it passes into your intestines and it sits there and ferments.  Seriously, I read that.  So if you don't drink anything at least 15 minutes before you eat and about 30 minutes afterwords, that should solve the problem.  I started doing that a few days ago and the bloating has been less and less and is almost gone!

The damn bloating is still a problem.  That totally sucks because before starting lithium my stomach was perfect.  I work hard for that and now my belly looks awful...its not weigh gain but damned bloating!!!!   AAAAaaaa!!!  I hate it, I'm sick of it...WTF???

Ashwagandha works well for me, in addition to my meds. Great for mood and calming down.

the lady at the health food store said I should start taking that if the DHA didn't work for me. But so far, the DHA seems to be working. (for depression)
